OPTIX JSC among top 10 contestants in FRONTEX Low Flying Object Detection Contest

OPTIX JSC has achieved a top ten position in the Low Flying Object Detection Contest, organized by FRONTEX, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency. Among 21 competitors, OPTIX JSC has secured its place in the next stage of the contest, where its proposal, along with the other top ten contestants, will undergo a comprehensive technical review.

From this evaluation, the five most outstanding proposals will be selected, with each finalist eligible for a cash reward of EUR 50,000. The top three proposals from the second stage will proceed to the third stage, involving an operational trial. During this phase, the finalists will collaborate closely with FRONTEX and other stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage their proposed technological solutions.

The operational trial is scheduled to take place in Estonia for three weeks in the fall of 2023. Its aim is to identify the most effective and efficient low flying object detection technology that can significantly contribute to FRONTEX's operations in safeguarding European borders.
