Bulgarian Swimmer Tsanko Tsankov Triumphs in Challenging Open Water Marathon

Bulgarian swimmer Tsanko Tsankov achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first Bulgarian to complete a demanding 36-kilometer swim from Catalina Island to Los Angeles in the Pacific Ocean. This extreme marathon took an exhausting 10 hours, 33 minutes, and 29 seconds, starting late at night and involving huge waves and icy water temperatures.

Tsankov expressed his joy and the immense difficulty of the marathon, stating, "This was the toughest challenge in my life, testing my mind and body as an athlete."

He also revealed his ambitious goal of completing all 7 of the most challenging swimming marathons in the coming years, having already accomplished 2.
